It has been quite a while since I have shown how to play any chords on here, so I think it is about time to learn another one. The only chord we will learn on guitar today is the "F" chord. This is played by placing your ring finger on the third fret of the fourth string from the bottom, your middle finger on the second fret of the third string from the bottom, and placing your index finger on the first fret of the second and first strings. This is how you play an "F" chord as shown below.

Gold Nugget (Seeing Lives Changed)

Learning guitar is always fun, especially learning a song that can touch and reach other people. That is why I choose to play and teach from a Christian aspect. I have seen so many lives changed for the better through music ministry by the touch of Jesus. You can also have that same effect on other people through ministering in song. In saying that, I encourage you to learn these songs and any other worship songs and take them to the world. Ask your pastor or Church leader if you can play a special for the congregation, and if this is your goal already I thank you for your adoration and for making an effort to change the world. Always have fun in learning new songs, play them out, and see lives changed.

(Gold Nugget) Being comfortable

Always when playing or learning to play any instrument you need to be comfortable. Not only in your stature, but with what you are playing and how you are playing it. Not everybody plays guitar the same. But one thing is for sure, one key to playing good is being comfortable. While you are learning, if you do not feel comfortable with the way you are holding your arm, or the way you are sitting or standing, just relax. I know sometimes with the positions you put your hand in while making a chord may feel uncomfortable to start, but I promise with time and practice chords will become easier and easier. In practicing a certain song, if you come upon a stumbling block, like say for intense you are having trouble with a bar chord or your strumming, just relax, try to be as comfortable as possible and maybe ask someone else for help or watch how someone else plays. I have learned a lot from just watching other people play. So, be comfortable with your playing, practice, and if you need help ask.

Main Goal (Worship Music Guitar)

I want to offer the best free online worship guitar lesson I possibly can. Even though anyone can learn guitar from my blog, I strongly urge you to play and minister for God. After all, God is the one that gives you the ability to do so. Also, in offering worship songs such as "Heart of Worship" , "Open the Eyes of my Heart",  "Here I am to Worship", and much more to come, I expect and hope that anyone learning will come to a deeper revelation and a deeper relationship with our maker and our savior Jesus Christ. With all this being said I would like to hear some feedback from anyone I have and will help along the way. I would also like for anyone to give me some ideas as to what I can do to make this blog better and easier for you. I believe we can help each other.

Thank You and God Bless,
Brandon Robbins

More Chords ( A & Bm Chords)

Now it has been a while since I have taught some guitar chords on here, so I think it is about time. These chords I am about to teach you are crucial to learn the next song "Here I am to Worship". Let us start with the chord "A". This chord is played by placing your index finger on the second fret of the fourth string from the bottom, your middle finger on the second fret of the third string from the bottom, and your ring finger on the second fret of the second string from the bottom. This is an "A" chord as shown below.
(A) (Strum all but the top)

The next chord we are going to learn is what is called a bar chord. Now a bar chord is when you use your index finger to press down most or all of the strings on one fret and your other fingers are positioned in front of that finger making the chord. The bar chord we are going to learn right now is "Bm". To play this chord you place your index finger on the second fret and bar or press down from the fifth string to the bottom. Then place your middle finger on the third fret of the second string from the bottom, your ring finger on the fourth fret of the fourth string from the bottom, and your pinkie on the fourth fret of the third string from the bottom. This is a "Bm" chord as shown below.

(Bm) (Strum all but the top)

Now, if you have learned the chords Em, G, and D from my other posts and these new chords, these are all you need to play "Here I am to Worship" Here are the Here I am to Worship guitar chords:
Verse-D,A,Em,G     D,A,G
Chorus-D,A,Bm,G
Bridge-A,D,G

Gold Nugget (Worship and Gutiar-a lesson on both)

Now That I have shown you a few basics on guitar or maybe you have learned a little on your own. You might feel called to lead worship at your church. I want to tell you the one key thing to having great praise and worship in a service is not playing great and perfect music or having the best musicians, but it is the plain unadulterated worship, most importantly the worship of the worship leaders. Not that your worship is more important than others, but your worship is important to lead others into worship because you are the example of worship set in front of them. If you are a part of the worship team you are a worship leader. I do not care if you play drums, sing, play guitar, or the tambourine leading worship is just that, leading the worship. How can you lead worship if you are not worshiping yourself? Just so you know that leading worship is not playing music and watching the congregation's reaction, but it in it self is worship. I think you will find that the more you worship, the more the congregation is lead into worship, and when people worship God , God shows up.

Open the Eyes of my Heart (Chorus)(Em & Am Chords)

Okay, it has been a week since my first post in this blog, and I gave you the chords to learn for the verse of "Open the Eyes of my Heart". Now I am going to give you the new chords you will need to learn to use in conjunction with the other chords you learned, for the chorus of this song. The first chord you will need to learn is "E minor" or "Em". This is a very simple chord you just place your middle finger on the second fret of the fifth string from the bottom, and place your ring finger on the second fret of the fourth string from the bottom. This is an "Em" chord as shown below.
(Em) (Strum all strings)
The second and last chord you need to learn for the song is "Am". To play this chord you place your middle finger on the second fret of the fourth string from the bottom, your ring finger on the second fret of the third string from the bottom, and your index finger on the first fret of the second string from the bottom. This is an "Am" chord as shown below.
(Am) (Strum all but the top)

The chorus is a combination of the chords from the verse and these new chords and they go in this order. "D,Em,C,D   D,Em,Am,D" Again, listen to the song for the strumming pattern and chord changes. I would also like to add that the bridge, "where they sing Holy, Holy, Holy", is the same chords as the verse. Join me for my next blog post where I will be teaching you how to play the song "Heart of Worship"

Worship Guitar Lesson(Open the Eyes of my Heart)(G,D&C Chords)

Hi, I'm Brandon Robbins and I play guitar for a music ministry called "David the Band" and in this blog I will discuss the beginning stages of not only how to play guitar, but how to play worship guitar.
Lets start with the basics. First you must tune your guitar to standard and if you do not have a guitar tuner I suggest you buy one. They are very helpful and all guitarists need one. The first chord you need to learn is "G". To play this chord you place your middle finger on the third fret of the top low "E" string, your index finger on the second fret of the next string down which is the "A" string, your ring finger on the third fret of the 2nd string from the bottom which is the "B" string, and your pinkie finger on the third fret of the bottom high "E" string and this is a "G" chord as shown below. (For a more advanced lesson click on this link http://bit.ly/hwW0dj
(G) (STRUM ALL STRINGS)
The next chord we are going to learn is a "D" chord. To play a "D" you place your index finger on the second fret of the third string from the bottom which is the "G" string, your ring finger on the third fret of the second string from the bottom, and your middle finger on the second fret of the bottom string and this is a "D" chord as shown below.
(D)(STRUM ALL BUT THE TOP)
The last chord we will learn in this section is a "C" chord. This is played by placing your ring finger on the third fret of the fifth string from the bottom, your middle finger on the second fret of the fourth string from the bottom and your index finger on the first fret second string from the bottom and this is a "C" chord as shown below.
(C)(STRUM ALL BUT THE TOP)
Practice switching back and fourth between G, D, C, and back to G again. These are the chords for the verse of one of the most famous praise and worship songs "Open the Eyes of my Heart." Just listen to the song for the chord changes and strumming patterns. My next blog will have the chords in order for the chorus of "Open the Eyes of my Heart."           If you would like to learn more on guitar click on this link. http://bit.ly/gXZ7KJ
